Author's Note

White to play and win! The BDG is unique since it is one of the true gambits available to White after 1 d4 (1 d4 d5 2 e4 dxe4 3 Nc3 or 1 d4 Nf6 2 Nc3 d5 3 e4). Most opening manuals treat the BDG somewhat lightly - they run out a couple of lines to a Black plus, and then say the gambit is refuted. Hogwash! For every variation recommended for Black, improvements are found for White. A playable fighting game. I challenge you to enter the BDG world and make your contribution to exciting chess!...
