Imre König had a long life, much of it lived through troubled times. The town of his birth has changed country and he lived in at least four countries before finally settling in the USA.
The times and his wanderings undoubtedly had a major effect on him and his chess. His opportunities to play were reduced. His games are scattered across continents and many old chess magazines and he is scarcely remembered.
The author of this book has searched many old records and put together this first collection of König's games and articles. As this book will reveal, Imre König was a strong International Master who played with success in a number of important events between the World Wars.
