When he was just a beginner himself, the young author of this volume (who did well both in the Junior European Championship, and in the Junior World Championship), owed his own rapid progress largely to a thorough study of types of positions similar to those shown in this book of his. The acquirement of the essential concepts of chess (such as the simple kinds of mates in one, two and three moves, the various sorts of winning material, the double attacks, the pawn promotions, and the characteristic types of combinations) is assisted by 10 x 48 diagrams, which also develop the skill of the pupils desirous to learn by the fact that the author sets them the task of solving various chess problems. This volume is an essential aid both for children liking (and learning) chess, and for inexperienced grownup chess players.
Der junge Verfasser unseres Buches, der Ungarn in Junioren-Europa- und Weltmeisterschaften mit Erfolg vertrat, hatte am Anfang seiner Laufbahn seine rasche, sprunghafte Entwicklung vor allem dein eingehenden Studieren von in dem vorliegenden Buch dargelegten Stellungen zu verdanken. Dieses Buch trägt in erster Linie zum Vorankommen von jungen Spielern durch Veranschaulichung von grundlegenden Begriffen, wie zum Beispiel einfache ein-zwei-dreizügige Matts, verschiedene Wege zum Materialgewinn, Doppelangriff, Ausnutzung der Grundlinienschwächen, Bauernumwandlung, verschiedene Arten der Kombinationen, bei. Die 10x48 Diagramme, sowie deren Lösungen leisten dem Leser eine besonders wertvolle Hilfe, sich in die Hauptbegriffe der Schachtaktik zu vertiefen. Dieses Buch wird sowohl für die jungen als auch für die erwachsenen Liebhaber des Schachspiels eine unentbehrliche Hilfe sein.
