Among the great players in chess history, there is one name which stands out with an aura of invincibility, Tigran Petrosian, World Chess Champion from 1963-69. For long periods of his career, which ended with his untimely death in 1984, Petrosian was considered almost unbeatable, thanks to his remarkable defensive qualities and iron will. However, Petrosian was capable of the most astoundingly subtle games, which other Grandmasters could only marvel at.
