The second edition of French Defense: New and Forgotten Ideas retains its basic idea of inspiring players to do independent work. Revised from the quick sell-out 1988 edition, and greatly expanded, it offers 520 complete and instructive games with an additional 203 complete games included in the comments.
There are: more than 1,000 forgotten ideas, suggestions, and improvements of theoretical book lines. The suggestions, practically speaking, are potentially new ideas for more independent analysis. Many of these games and game fragments do not exist in the specialized or monster computer databases.
For those who need to learn how to make and play, combinations, the French Defense is perfect, as illustrated by the many thematic games Minev offers. The French Defense has been the explosive counterattacking system of the 90s, and you'll see why when you play over the games of the known and the unknown-games through early 1998.

Theorie auf anderer Wellenlänge
Wiederum 1.
