Hand auf's Herz! Wann hatten Sie zuletzt ein Endspielbuch in der Hand? Gerade erst gestern! Gratuliere! Falls die Antwort aber so ähnlich wie "reden wir nicht darüber" lautete, dann habe ich etwas für Sie. In 7 Kapiteln hat der Autor eine kurzweilige Zusammenstellung von Endspielstellungen aus der internationalen Praxis der letzten Jahre parat. Im ersten Abschnitt wird die/der Interessierte zunächst mit "einfachen" Bauernendspielen "warmgemacht". Welche Fallstricke gerade diese beinhalten, wissen wir wohl aus eigener Erfahrung. Es folgen ein paar Turm-, Leichtfiguren- und Damenendspiele, bevor im m.E. interessantesten Kapitel "Positional themes" diverse Mittelspielstellungen auf ihren Übergang ins Endspiel untersucht werden. Weiter geht die "Endspielreise" zu wichtigen Fragen wie der Verwertung eines Mehrbauern oder einem Qualitätsplus. Gerade hier tun sich viele von uns wohl recht schwer, so daß diese Konstellationen nicht oft genug geübt werden können. Zum Abschluß geht es dann um Techniken für die Verteidigung eines schlechter stehenden Endspiels.
Ein Endspielbuch, das trotz der sprachlichen Barriere ge- und benutzt werden sollte.
